About Amber

My interest in theatre began early, pretending with family and friends, creating elaborate sets of cardboard colored with crayons, and ordering people to play along.

My first theatre class was freshman year of high school and we were putting on the Music Man. My best friend wanted to audition, but would not do it alone, forcing me into the audition as well. Once in the hall with the director and musical director, I informed them I did not wand to be on stage and was simply auditioning for the experience. I was offered the assistant stage manager position. Having no idea what that was, but wanting to be involved somehow, I agreed.

Thankfully, my drama teacher knew me well, and stage management was exactly what I was looking for. A management position in the creative arts world where I could keep the organized structure I prefer, enjoy and facilitate the creative collaboration of a production, and work on my shyness and public speaking skills in a safe and fun environment.

One audition for a show I did not want to be on stage for, and now I am hooked for life.
